Hi peeps its been 3 weeks since i first made some cider (for the first time) i have a large crust formed on top which ive been told is normal but no bubbles are coming out the airlock thing is there anyway of making sure is working??????

what kind of vessel are you using?
if it's a DJ, then press the bung down harder to ensure a (air)tight fit.
if it's an FV (bucket with lid) then the lid probably isn't airtight, and not actually an issue at this stage.
if you give the thing a swirl, or mush the crust back into the liquid this might help, as there are nutrient and sugars in the crust that aren't being used by the yeast - the gas produced is holding up the crust.
how long has it been fermenting, at what temperature, and what yeast?

sounds normal - don't worry.

hi thanks its one of those 40L bucket type things i used yeast that was called cider yeast and its been around 3-4 weeks and its at room temp
Thanks
