Another reason for having a covered water-butt is that it reduces the chances of puddles in the garden which, in turn, reduces the breeding grounds for mosquitoes ...

... that will come out and feed on you when you sit out at night in the gazebo! athumb..

Luckily for me, if just the two of us are outside, mosquitoes always attack SWMBO! :laugh8:

I’ve recently got rid of a “nature pond” from the back of our garden (it was here when we moved in) because I discovered it was the main source of mozzies in our garden in the evening.

So I’ve now managed to get all the decking finished it’s all starting to take shape.

Although where I was thinking it wasn’t going to be big enough, I’m now thinking I may have been a bit to generous with my measurements. Ahh well.

So made some great progress the last few days. Been a bit pre-occupied with some potential business stuff coming up so I haven’t posted any pics for a while.

Had a mate round today (the same roofer who helped me with the brew shed) and got on with the roof. Didn’t get the felt shingles on as they haven’t been delivered yet...... only 7 days late..... grrrrr

To be honest it’s come out a bit bigger than I imagined with the roof on....... ooops.....

But it shall now be known as the “beer veranda”

I’m gonna get on with the patio next as who knows when the shingles will arrive.......
