Hi everyone!
I'm looking to brew to most neutral-tasting sugar wash (ideally, it should taste like water). The end-goal is to have that neutral tasting alcohol base and mix it with flavors.
I've been experimenting with fermentation with Turbo Yeast, demineralized water and white sugar (from beets). I get a 15% ABV end product and dilute it with water to get a 5% ABV drink.
However, my sugar wash has a lot of off-flavors. It tastes and smells like a bad white wine.
Do you have any idea how I could improve the brewing to have a neutral-tasting end product?
Should I use some kind of filtering method like active carbon?
Should I change the yeast?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
