Need some inspiration on a recipe guys.

Not put a brew on in at least 3 months and i have a load of MO to use up and looking to do something different.

Hops wise i have 100g of citra and Amarillo and 50g Sazz and 80g of Tettnang. Not varied i know but got to get them used up.

I have a range of CML yeast's as well.

What sort of brew do you reckon would work well with the above hops and MO?

Any direction welcome.

Cheers,
Greg

If you have a Belgian yeast and some sugar you could do a rough Duvel Tripel hop Citra clone using the Tettnang, Saaz and Citra.

It screams out for a SMASH with almost anything! I brewed this last March:

SMASH WITH CITRA
Brewed 03/03/17

INGREDIENTS
  • 5.00kg Maris Otter Malt
  • 50g Citra Pellets
  • Wilco Ale Yeast
  • Yeast Nutrient
PREPARATION
  • Mill 5.0kg of Maris Otter Malt
  • Prepare 2 x 15g and 1 x 10g Citra Hops
  • Put out 1 x Protafloc Tablet
  • Put out Wilco Ale Yeast
  • Put out Yeast Nutrient
MASH METHOD
  • Strike Water = 2.6 litres per 1kg of grain = 13 litres at 68 degrees
  • Mash at 60 to 62 degrees for one hour.
  • Run off wort and circulate using TWO vessels until wort runs CLEAR.
  • Heat SPARGE water to 68 degrees.
  • Sparge at one litre per minute. Stop sparge when runnings reach SG1.008 / SG1.012.
  • Overfill boil kettle so that there is no need to add more water later.
BOIL METHOD
  • Boil with 15g of Citra Bittering Hop Pellets for 60 minutes.
  • Add Protafloc tablet and boil for 10 minutes.
  • Add 10g of Citra Hop Pellets for 5 minutes.
  • Flame Out
  • Add 15g of Citra Hop Pellets and steep for 30 minutes (stir occasionally).
  • Cool to 20 degrees, whirlpool and run off into FV via a sieve.
  • Pitch yeast and ferment at 20 degrees.
  • Add 80g of sugar and Hop Tea prepared from 10g of Citra Hop Pellets before bottling.
DETAILS
  • OG = 1.044
  • FG = 1.010
  • ABV = 4.5%
NOTES
First impressions “That is bitter!”

I then left it for a couple of weeks and took it to France; where it turned out to be a superb brew!

Enjoy!:gulp:

This is a slight variation on a recipe I got of the web for Sam Adams Boston Lager (stick with me!) and one I brewed: it wasn't Sam Adams but it was a very tasty brew, one that I'd do again. Only difference is that you have Saaz and the original recipe said Hallertau for the dry hop, but both are lager-type hops so should be fine. Use a lager yeast, I used Saflager S23 but presumably you have a CML lager yeast?

Recipe Specs
----------------
Batch Size (L): 19.0
Original Gravity (OG): 1.044 (°P): 11.0
Final Gravity (FG): 1.011 (°P): 2.8
Alcohol by Volume (ABV): 4.32 %
Colour (SRM): 8.6 (EBC): 16.9
Bitterness (IBU): 36.4 (Average)
Brewhouse Efficiency (%): 68

Grain Bill
----------------
3.700 kg Maris Otter Malt (93.94%)
0.239 kg Crystal 60 standard (6.06%)

Hop Bill
----------------
60.0 g Tettnanger Leaf (4% Alpha) @ 60 Minutes (Boil) (3.2 g/L)
14.0 g Tettnanger Leaf (4% Alpha) @ 15 Minutes (Boil) (0.7 g/L)
10.0 g Saaz Leaf (3.6% Alpha) @ 0 Days (Dry Hop) (0.5 g/L)

CML dont do a lager yeast but their kolsch yeast would work.

I like the look of the your recipe btw as I have some Saaz and Hallertau Mittelfrauh to use up and might sub the Tettnanger for HM. Id also sub the M.Otter for Golden Promise
