sink tap

just been given a boiler that was part made by a friend of the wife, there are 2 holes cut out one for the kettle element and the other for the tap, i was thinking that im in the middle of changing my bathroom over and thought i could use one of the sink taps. would this be ok?

In theory it would work, but I wouldn't as it will be impossible to clean. The design of the tap inside will have areas that bits can lodge. For the sake of a few quid it isn't worth it. Get a ball valve tap.
