I’m sure I have time for another before I make dinner 😉. Actually I forgot todays lunch, I had Pedigree and it actually wasn’t bad at all.

Your low FG is throwing me because it feels wrong given the body and residual sweetness. Some sweetness (perception) can come from lower IBUs. More sugar should give you a more dry finish (but that FG!).

My own Tripel uses 5Kg malt and 1.25Kg candy sugar resulting in a 9.2% beer with 30 IBUs. My OG is 1.076 and FG is 1.006.

I guess you could try a little more sugar, a little less malt, and a few extra IBUs but if you like the beer as it is you could change nothing.

Great, thanks for that H! 😊

My wife took an elderly relative shopping today and brought me a few beers from Home Bargains. The first one I tried was a porter from America and it was actually very nice. I would have this one again - just as well, she bought me two of these.

The second was this Lucky Buddha which is brewed and bottled in China. My wife thought the bottle was a giggle and as we all know that’s a good sign of a great beer! 🤷‍♂️ It’s quite sweet and is a bit thin. Despite not being as bad as I’d feared I still would not recommend this one.
