just opened the FV lid and the yeast scum at the top smell vinegary, the actual beer smells ok

will it just be the lid and sides, or will it all be ruined?

I had 2 FV`s the other smells fine...
 
How long has it been in the fv? I would put it into a clean one and try to keep the beer away from the scum. I have a stout which has turned to vinegar but that was because I never got round to bottling it.

I would say it will be ok but after it has stopped fermenting get it bottled.
 
was putting it in a cheap keg when i noticed the smell in the empty FV. it had been in there 10days

as i say smell only in lid and above beer level

youve given me hope at least

still have another 4 FV`s full though :drunk: getting ready for xmas :whistle:
