After the plug from @Tanglefoot I couldn’t not get a few of these in for tonight. Right up my street; big bready malt hit, medium to full bodied with a bright and perfectly bittered finish. Should have got some for their normal IPA to compare, it’s a good while since I’ve had one.

The neonraptor was one of the best beers I have had in a long time.

Now I am back on the porters. A cherry porter from my hometown brewery. I ordered these before Xmas and my parents were due to bring them before Xmas but lockdown struck. I hadn't seen them since August so today as been a good day. The beer however isn't up to much. Only another 6 bottles to go.

American Stout by @matt76 .

Pours with a lovely brown head, nice pop as it opens. Lovely black colour.

Aroma, stone fruit, brown sugar.

First sip it's really roasty, get less roasty the more you drink, you get more hop bitterness, some chocolate.

Quite full bodied, coats the mouth but not cloying, sweet but not overly so.

This is delicious matt, absolutely lovely, even the wife liked it, she said that she wouldn't have believed it wasnt a beer that I'd bought and I'd agree, I'd drink this until the cows came home.

Super stoked to hear you enjoyed it @pilgrimhudd , had a feeling you might. Just had another one myself - I think it's actually mellowed quite a bit in just a week, the bitterness from both the hops and the roast malts is another and less aggressive now :beer1:

Sounds nice I most get a look at his recipe 👍
Full details here. For v2 I'm planning to try some different hops and maybe a teeny tiny bit more priming sugar but apart from that, if it ain't broke don't fix it 👍

Forgot to mention on my review that it's only 3.2%!
How very dare you! I'll have you know it's actually a very intoxicating 3.8% ABV 😜🤪😁

Need a beer after filling 11 bottles with the CP filler. Holding against 15psi for an extended period was surprisingly hard work 🤣

Refreshing lager, then onto spud peeling.
🍻

Had to move swiftly on to a WCIPA for something with a bit more backbone.
I have a couple of spare bottles of this if anyone fancies a bottle swap while its fresh?
acheers.

I am up for a swap. I will have a black IPA to send in return. This won't be ready until next week. Or I can send a cascade and citra pale ale.
I would like some feedback on the black IPA. I sent it into this month's competition. I haven't even tasted it yet myself 😃

First taste of my American stout just kegged on Thursday so very young but it’s very promising
Roasty spicy bitter finish hint of liquorice and chocolate. A belter if I do say so myself.
possibly a wee bit too bitter at the min hopefully settle out in a week or 2

Sounds spot on. What hops did you use. I have just made a starter for my Belgian Trappist single. I plan to brew on Tuesday

Trying my Tribute ish clone. It’s very sessionable but I think the Munich has taken over too much. If I brewed it again I’d drop the Munich and probably dry hop as the hops are a little lost in there 🍺View attachment 44033
