Bottling done, then straight into dinner.
Hence the late posting.
Thats 4.5 gallons (Imperial) folks of the Dortmunder Pilsner Beer.
Had to have a quick preprandial of my 1st Czechish Pilsner though.
Gorgeous.
Then carve the lamb and a fresh Southern French Madiran red to accompany it.

Came down this morning to a beery wet worktop.
Not too bad as it only leaked through the crack until the vacuum head held it back.
Quickly transferred remainder of the (Imperial) pint to a (sterilised) Grolsch 500ml bottle, so thankfully not too disastrous.
Phew!
These photos are just water rinsings for demonstration purposes. My beer isn't that light!

My view this morning has changed. That air mattress is nothing to do with me, it just sidled up to us!

So I’m on holiday (told you I needed one) and I feared the local shop might not have any decent beers but they had a reasonable range with a few surprises.

I’m starting with the Paulaner Weiss. Nice.

Could you Squeeze any more out of the keg? 😉
😀 I’m afraid not, that was the last pint! It’s being cleaned now in readiness to receive a Stella attempt that’s chilling before transfer.
Whilst I’m waiting I hooked up the old peculier to my stout tap, no points for pouring but liking the creamy head.

A good evening tonight in Cyprus and it appears the craft beer movement is just starting here. There are two craft beer tap rooms and one of them is a hundred yards from our hotel - champion! We’d already said we would meet up with old friends elsewhere but popped in to the tap room for a taste of a couple of beers on the way.

I started with a pale ale and a NEIPA. The NEIPA was a bit pedestrian but the pale ale was very nice.

They also do a good selection of other beers in bottles

So the tap room is our destination tomorrow. Now back in our room and I’m having that Guinness I’ve been eyeing up.

I think I forgot to post this video from my birthday in 2019. It was taken when I discovered “La Baleine” in St Nazaire.

You purchase a Card for whatever you wish to spend and then wander around the 24+ craft beers pulling as much or as little as you want to drink!

It ain’t cheap and anyone who likes a decent beer can spend a lot of money before staggering off home!

Enjoy!
:hat:

Sorry but the video was too long! I will attempt to modify and try later.

Attempt 2!

You know you forgot it again!? 😂

Just quality controlling the LAB Irish Red. Clarity much improved but not crystal. Taste is spot on, roasty with a subtle hit of stone fruit esters in the background. I do like WLP004, even if it seems reluctant to drop clear, at least in my hands anyway. It’s a good beer, but I’ve brewed better. I’ll be happy with a mid-30’s score.

Quality controlling the LAB Märzen now. Again, the clarity falls below my usual standards. But I’m loving the big bready malts (no pilsner in this brew) balanced with melanoidin. Wy2308 is a great yeast for malt forward German lagers. The Magnum and Mittlefruh play nice in the background.
