I have some birthday money burning a hole in my pocket. I’ve spent most of it on equipment for my home gym so can probably justify spending the rest on homebrew equipment. My budget is £60, suggestions please. Go!

Suppose it's entirely down to what you already have, and what are the perceived weaknesses in your brewing and dispensing practice.

Loads of possibilities of I'm honest! Not helping in the slightest :coat:

I'm loving my wireless Inkbird ITC-308. Increased the temperature of my brewfridge tonight for a diacetyl rest from my living room

@MickDundee, care to share a rough outline of your brew setup, do you bottle/keg, fermentation arrangements, etc to give a rough idea of what might benefit you?

Cheers palathumb..

Nah if you can get a fridge you don’t need that much to build a kegerator. Maybe a few kegs might set you back £60 each but you won’t regret it.
£220 for the double keg set up on Brew Keg Tap with stainless steel taps, looking at £245 for flow control. I know I could probably pick up the individual “bits” cheaper but I have neither the time nor the inclination https://brewkegtap.co.uk/collections/featured-collection/products/premium-kegerator-kit-2-kegs

And then there’s the gas. Depends on where/how you get it but from a thread on here it looks like I’d have to travel to Stirling (70 miles) for £30 a year rental and £16 to fill up. Closer to home some places are after up to £60 rental up front.

I’d love to keg but it’s not really practical for me at the moment.

Is there not an Adams gas in Aberdeenshire somewhere Mick?

The closest place for us that isn't a complete rip off is in Stirling. Absolute madness that nowhere in Tayside sells CO2 at a decent price.

***** that Mick. I’m in the same boat likely. I’d be the guts of two hours to Aberdeenshire - and I’m not even entirely certain if they do CO2 - although I’ve heard they do.

Once I run out of fire extinguishers I’ll have to find out!

Theres an adams gas guy in clola near mintlaw, George Jamieson, if you want his number its 07814 346719. Deffo has co2 tanks. Just said to call him first to make sure hes at the shed to collect
Wasn't too badly priced if i remember, was about £50 deposit and £20 something for the fills on a 3.15kg tank, but he doesnt deliver and i dont drive so just went with BOC in bridge of don.
BOC is costing me £3.97 month rental and £39.72 for 6.4kg of gas.

Yeah that’s the guy!

I do drive, so would work out cheaper to use Adams Gas. I’m a year into kegging and have nearly seen the end of my first 5kg extinguisher. So we could say that would be roughly £30 per year for refills and no monthly rental fee.

But as you don’t drive then it’s a no brainier. I just couldn’t pay BOC’s rentals costs. I think it’s a total scam and they have the market in their hands...
