Does anyone have experience with brewing schwartzbier? I'm looking for a starting point for a bit of experimental brewing. I'd like to brew a beer a bit like a brew I remember from my childhood in Denmark: it's dark (almost like Guiness, but not as smooth), quite sweet, very low in alcohol and unavailable in the UK. It's apparently not dissimilar to German schwartzbier, although schwartzbier is less sweet and higher in alcohol, but that wouldn't bother me now that I'm a grown-up!
Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Dennis

THIS

is a recipe I got from Linden Street Brewing Company, Oakland, California, more of a black California Common variant  I've only brewed it once, buit it was a bit too sweet and chocolate for my liking, but it may give you some ideas.

Good luck with it
