Sifting out the powder

For my last brew I decided to sift out about 1/2 kg of the powdery flour found in the pake malt. Has anyone else tried this?

Why would you do that? Is that from the crushed malt or not?

Your efficiency will be affected. I know with ready crushed malt it tends to settle to the bottom but it’s part of the malt and there’s plenty of good stuff in there.
