Trying my competition saison before it goes on Monday. Tastes good but worried about the carbonation unsettling the yeast at the bottom of the bottle

Sorry no photos, but tonight I decided to leave my own beer alone and check out some of my recent buys from Lidl. I started with a vanilla chocolate stout, and for me,, it was a bit too much 60% vanilla, 30% chocolate, 10% beer. With some trepidation, I then went for a Hercule Berge Belgian DEIPA., 7.4%. I guess it was fine, but I really don't like strong beers, I always feel they are restricting what I can drink within the limits I feel comfortable with, so they have to be pretty bloody amazing... Well, that's the way I look at it! :D So in the end I drank about a third of it, and poured the rest away, Which, like I say, doesn't mean it was bad, And then had a look at the two stouts I've got going on. Which are fine, but will be better in another week or two. But oh, that's where I came in, isn't it...?

I think you’re right, you need to decompress the polypin regularly. Probably every few hours in fact, y’know, just to be safe.

I was forced to carry out the safety procedure of decompressing the polypin/cubitainer again this lunchtime. 🍺😉
The container was distended with CO2 again.
And that's since I was similarly forced into drawing off some last night too.🍺🤔
I suppose this may cause me to repeat, until it is safely all removed from the container. This could be arduous. 🍺🤭

Aye, you’re doing good work there 👏

Keep it up and learn any important lessons for next time (to do the same?).

We are having @DocAnna's Naeb'dy Aboot Red Festbier - love the name!

These are my favourite type of beers - variations of a style that enables you to make it your own, and exactly how I brew myself.

The description on the side of the can is definitely accurate - I get the notes of toasted marshmallow and the hob nobs as you mention Anna. I even get an aftertaste of nougat which is amazing. :onechug:

The beer is perfectly clear with a light carbonation that doesn't do a disappearing act. I would say it's top end of light-bodied to bottom end of medium. Tastes very clean and is very refreshing. It's very muggy here today and it's going down a treat.

I think the bitterness and sweetness is perfectly balanced. I may be way off - but can I taste saaz hops in it?

I think this is a very well-made lager with lots of flavour up front. We are both loving it.

Thank you for sharing - exceptional as always. clapa
