Got a La Trappe Dubbel, Tripel, and Quad in the cupboard I made sure to try them all on tap whilst in Amsterdam, I'm hoping the bottles live up to my expectations.

Had a bottle of my 11% American barleywine this evening after another horror of a shift.

Bittered to 100+ IBUs with Chinook and Amarillo. 8 months in the bottle and it's so smooth now, amazing stuff. Getting an earthy taste from the Amarillo and lots of sweet malt.

If you can get ahold of any of the oak aged quads then definitely grab one. Not cheap but well worth it.

I'm dedicated in my pursuit of making six, straight batches of a Belgian triple. I'm going to have one in a bit. The shelf is five beers deep and 14 beers across. I have another batch right above. I love getting a stockpile going.

I like a brown ale - have one fermenting at the moment (5 days in I think).

Brown malt doesn’t seem so popular these days but I use quite a bit in brown ales, porters, and stouts.

Re brown malt, I bought a couple of kilos of this a while back and used it quite heavily in an a Dunkelweizen (mistake) and a porter (slowly mellowing) but it is dirty stuff that needs a long time to condition. I'll definitely try some in a brown ale before the year is out. It needs a light hand when weighing out.

Been drinking....err sampling my MJ juicy sesion IPA, been in the corny a week now and is as good as usual. Did the weekly shop this morning and picked up some bottles as you do, Shipyard IPA, Bombardier, Tribute and Adnams Ghost ship. Now I know from past purchases that I like most of them but never bought a Tribute and drinking it at the mo' and finding it a bit....meh!,

I like McEwen's beers, even though I know they are just a brand now. Champion is great and I was surprised recently how much I enjoyed a four pack of red death (export).

Hardcore! It's lush. But dangerous.

Champion and Moonraker. Two luscious sweet strong and malty bottled beers I always go back for more of. Good choice.
I'd like to do a Moonraker clone. Any recommendations on a yeast for this?

Bought some McEwans export alongside a pack of Hobgoblin a few weeks back. Must say I preferred the export. But maybe that's because the taste reminds me of a misspent youth.

Quite possibly, but as macro, canned pasteurised, ale goes, it's actually not bad! I'd certainly give it a try on keg in a pub where the cask was dubious / non existent.

Following the brown malt discussion. I bought some recently thinking it would be a key component of a brown ale but the ones in GH book don't have any apart from the aged/ oak recipe. For reference I liked Newkue brown back in late 80s Double Maxim and Sam Smiths Nut Brown.

Well I've not carbed this very well tried the new range of carbonation drops from brew2bottle didn't realise till now it says use 2 per 500ml Bottle. I was using 1 drop of the Cooper's brand and that was sufficient for me..... Oh what to do now

I love la trappe quadrupel. Doing the math a la trappe quadrupple cost me £1.30 so £3.09 less. Now if you buy 96 beers or 4 crates thats £296 saving so you can hop over on eurotunnel and fill your boots. Its around £70 day return. I'm already planning a pre brexit day trip providing the c19 situation clams down. Vanuxeem is just over an hour from the chunnel. (this is how I sell it to the mrs (she gets a crate of fruity beer as a bribe)
