Ordered myself a cascade and an EKG yesterday. Hopefully planning to train these along a nice long section of sunny fence ... just need to put the fence up first!

Just finishing up CH5 and it's a lovely pint! A nice mild mix of fruit and spice on the tongue mellowing to some nice malty flavours and slight nutmeg aftertaste. It's a lovely rich and dark colour with a nice head on pouring. Very nice and well put together beer, well done to eh over brewed...

I've used Pacific Gem once and it's a strong one! I had about 20g in at the start of the boil and it gave tons of flavour. I used EKG as my aroma hop. I didn't like the beer on first try but after a month or two conditioning in the bottle it mellowed quite a bit to give quite a nice fruity...

Router is the virgin super hub and has a firewall. Browser wise mainly used Firefox. Going to boot up with Ubuntu in the morn and run clam av to see if there's anything still lurking. Check your security settings brewers, worth making sure all up to date.

As Markmark says they're great for testing the gravity during/after the boil and getting an indication. Much easier than trying to cool a few hundred ml of wort, and of course it doesn't waste any as only need a tiny drop. Mine seemed pretty accurate, when I first used it before pitching the...

Got hit pretty hard in Herts, only just got the power back on that went out at 4am, shame they couldn't have waited a couple more hours or I'd have got the whole day off rather than just a half one!

Exactly, I switched a couple of weeks ago to a tariff that's fixed until 2017, so no price rises will affect me. may cost slightly more than a standard tariff at the moment but they're all putting prices up 5-10% anyway. In the minute chance that prices actually go down there's no exit penalty...
