Don’t see many drinking the original stout Clint. What do you think of it compared to the surger can version ?

Better. I think Guinness has changed for the worse over the years though.

There is more flavour and aroma in the original but the great marketing campaign has made people think there is only one kind of Guinness and it’s all aimed at the creamy head.

While tempted to go for a Stout given the date, ultimately decided Red Wine would be better with Lasagna, so a very reasonably priced bottle of Bordeaux from M&S rich, fruity and fairly smooth honestly I’ve paid a lot more for a lot worse.

Happy St Paddy's day from the North of Scotland (made an a*se of pouring it)
I had a pint of that yesterday in the Huntsman and Horn, on the left hand pump! not a kentish lad are you Tanglefoot?
One of the brews I did using youngs yeast, crisp best ale malt amber and biscuit hops progress, it got down from 1052 to 1010 in 4days but is slow to clear tastes alright after 4 days in the keg

Went to Lewes for the night with the Mrs yesterday.
Having a pint of Harvey's Best that I picked up from their shop.
Another glass for the collection
Had a couple of Burning sky beers at the Snowdrop Inn yesterday and Patch beer cafe. Went to Abyss Brewery had a nice NEIPA and a pale. Had a Harvey's golden ale in The John Harvey. This lagerish golden ale was nice also.

This is the other youngs yeast brew, a simple pale ale with progress hops, this took 6days from 1050 to 1010 and is very good

Currently involved in trying to brew this stuff, which is a bit daft because I don't know what it's supposed to taste like. It seems getting hold of the right yeast is the problem. Got two 6-litre batches in fermenters at the moment and I've very high hopes for the first one.Went to Lewes for the night with the Mrs yesterday.

Oh, Why? Sussex Best is a bit of a Holy Grail around these parts as I've a fellow brewer who swears by it and is dedicating his life (and now mine) to making a decent copy.
Is it any good?
