Was up in Coventry tonight to see Frank Turner at the Empire and stumbled across a great little micro brewery called Twisted Barrel. Had a pint of their 'Inspired' beer and it was very nice.

I'm out for our annual Christmas night out with a group of friends and the restaurant has 2 of their "own" beer (one I think is just Eden mill St Andrews Blonde under another name because I had it a couple of weeks ago, not sure about the other one) as well as a revolving guest ale (which was another Eden Mill beer last time).

Saturday night in, so finishing the last few jars from a mini keg of Nelson's Revenge brewed back in July

Keg 3 of 4 Ruby Red Ales ran dry before I'd even filled a glass so went for one of my three remaining Muntons Golden Stag.

Bottled on the 24th August it isn't as good as the stuff I put in MKs at the same time and drank in late September (when it was a glorious pint); so Golden Stag is going down as "Summer Brew - Drink Early" in my Diary.

I also treated myself to two bottles of Coopers Lager. Started on 23rd August and bottled on the 8th November after 10 weeks lagering at 10 degrees. It tastes nice enough, but I'm not sure that it's worth the 10 week wait.

The Jury is still out on future lagering but I may give it a whirl again when I go away for a long break. It's hardly had time to settle in the bottle so it may very well improve as the weeks go by. :thumb:

Opened a tester of my chocolate chilli Stout. Only 1week after bottling so a little undercarbed. Otherwise a great winter Stout. Very pleased

Bottled on the 15th January this year and every single pint was perfect. :thumb:

Delicious! Nuf said! Hands off now til Christmas. ..

...this is nice..only criticism. .should have left it warm up a bit as it was spot on in taste and aroma at the end of the glass...and I'm going to find it hard to leave it in the shed without another sample...
