January Brew and Swap - American Cream Ale

Couldn't resist checking out how my cream ale is conditioning. Had nearly 2 weeks in the bottle. Looking very clear and is carbing nicely. Hopefully the next few weeks will see it improve...although it is doing well I think it's still under what's expected. Taste wise I'm very surprised by this. I wasn't overly excited when bottling but the taste has improved (for my preference). It's not very bitter but easily something I could drink on a hot summer day. Can't really describe the taste so very curious how others will rate this. No head formed when pouring (pic 1), but did form when aroused (pic 2....beer not me ), tho it didn't last long.

Mine has gone into the keg this evening and it got the seal of approval from the girlfriend; who does tend to favour 'simpler' beers so I can imagine this being something she'll definitely have a lot of.

Sneak preview of V2. Needs a bit more carb, better colour and better taste. Clarity not so good, but it’s got a couple of weeks in keg ahead of it. All in all I’m very happy.

Version 2 has dropped clear, WLP090 is a real performer. I’m liking the balance of flavours. The saaz is a good choice for after a hot summers afternoon on the ride-on, but I could be doing with something a bit softer tonight.

Have the groups been drawn up for the Cream Ale bottle swap? I think the idea was everyone would be put into groups of 5 and we were to send a bottle out to the 4 other members in the group. Just nervous I may have missed a post on this…?

That’s going to make the swap easy to work out. Im about to get on a plane, I’ll make a plan in the air. If anyone wants to run a randomised and post 2 groups of 4 in the meantime, fire away.
