Home from visiting family over the last couple of weeks so time for a bit of kitchen cooking dancing accompanied by this rather refined witbier courtesy of @dan125 😋.

It was 59% extra pale pilsner so maybe not a bone fide wheat beer 🤷‍♂️ but glad you enjoyed it 🍻
 
Just opened one of the unfortunately large bottles of the ‘Everything’ stout.
:oops: Crikey that’s changed in the last month - a hit of coffee, maple syrup, chocolate, oak and vanilla! The whisky taste that was previous front centre and a bit strong has majorly receded, the vanilla is more prominent. This tastes much closer to the original which is really a relief as I thought I’d over done it with the whisky.
Given the 11+% this glass is going to have to last the whole evening otherwise I’ll be asleep by 9.

I used to think that I wasn't that fussed about wheat beers. I think it was because we don't really have a wide range of commercial examples available in the UK. Having brewed several different styles, and sampled others' great homebrewed efforts, I'm completely converted. Weizenbock being my favourite style so far.

That's gorgeous! Glad its aging well for you!
 
Cracked open a belgian pale made with dregs from a year old bottle of Orval. The recipe is light dme and some saaz. It's lovely has a more pronounced brett character and is more phenolic than the original. It's also much less hoppy than orval. Overall I am very impressed, I am glad I saved the yeast cake on this one.
