Anyone tried making whiskey from scratch using peated grains, oak chips and turbo yeast?? I'm guessing you would have to use a fair amount of sugar too, to strengthen it up.:-P
Has anyone tried this or am I going off into the realms of fantasy??
Has anyone got a recipe/any thoughts? I guess it would take a very long time to mature too.

23% not too shabby.

Yeah I forgot to mention, I'm not thinking about distilling it :nono: I meant making a base mash from scratch and then fermenting it out with turbo yeast to get a 23% base :thumb:

Just a thought, but if you could carbonate it and use a sodastream type concentrate as a mixer, it wouldn't be much different than a regular strength drink.
